Jssuper
I have located two different parts from Magnaflow and I am curious to the difference. A: 23433 located here for $191 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-23433/ B: 46433 seen here for $687 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-46433/ I've tried to do a bit of research and I am curious.. They are both hi-flow cat u-bend delete replacements correct? So I want to confirm that the one priced under $200 is in-fact a u-bend delete upgrade. I simply don't want to spend near $700 for that upgrade as its honestly not worth it on this car, but for under $200 for a few more ponies it might be worth looking into.Lets say in fact that the 23433 model for $190 is what I am looking for, what kind of gains are we talking on a 60º LG8? Andrew
the expensive one is for Cali, which is super strict about emissions. Yes the cheap one does eliminate the u-bend. Ponies on a 3.1..... 5 on a good day. Edited November 28, 2011 by Andrew
Euro
Yeah the first one is what you'd probably have the best chance with. I'd say do it, or if you're just looking to ditch the u-bend, just go with one of these http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/229-Ubend-Delete.aspx Way cheaper, and probably easier to install as well. Jssuper
I actually didn't think to check that site. That would save me quite a bit of money, thanks for the link. I figure since that is the really restrictive part of the exhaust, just doing that delete should free up almost as much as the Magnaflow part. Andrew
that little section requires welding. If you have over 100k miles, might as well get a new cat too.

Jssuper
So with my car having 130K, but it runs well and doesn't seem to have any issues on the exhaust end and everything seems to be in good shape.. Do you guys think I should go ahead for a cat replacement while we are at this or just the U bend delete piece? I am fairly familiar with the local exhaust shop so welding the delete pipe in place isn't a concern. If this was my Mustang its a no brainer, but this Buick.. its one of those cars that isn't going to benefit from bolt-ons like the 'Stang' and honestly, its not the same kind of project car anyway.
