cutty97
I've never posted here but have always found what i'm looking for till now. The nut for the front strut was cross threaded when they were replaced about 4 years ago, my father in law helped my and denies it and of course said it was me. Last winter i hit a pothole trying to avoid an even bigger one. It took out my rim beyond repair. i had not been driving the car much do to the fact that i had surgery and was primarily using my truck. When i started ti drive the car again i was getting a clunking sound over bumps. My brother in law said it sounded like a ball joint. Well upon changing the ball joint the whole strut assembly fell apart. Thats when i noticed that the strut nut was cross threaded into the knuckle assembly. The knuckle is also shot now. My brother in law said he would tack weld the nut on for me but my luck ill need to replace the strut next year. My question is what year W body front passenger strut knuckle can i use. Local junk yard has one off a 96 GP, will it work. Any help would be a big help. I don't want to get rid of my girl, outside of a tranny at 96k i've only had to do wear and tear.
