Coolent Question

Yeah. Freezing water in your cooling system is bad.

Anthony found that one out the hard way. He thought he blew head gaskets when he really only blew the freeze plugs, and iirc the radiator too. Might want to take care of that...

Its spelled coolant btw.

Pink? The only color these cars were supposed to use is orange or green.

pink is normally for rv's/ boats. and uh, Auto coolants have special lubricants added to keep seals soft and the water pump lubed. They also have tons of anti-foaming, anti-corrosive, and anti-electrolysis additives. Put the RV stuff in your vehicle and the electrolysis damage also can destroy your radiator and heater core.

well my old lumina my dad had it before me and had put the pink in all the time and it has no problems, and it is the kind the mixes with what ever antifreeze.

Just because it hasn't failed before, doesn't mean its a good idea. Its a matter of preventative maintenance.

If its the kind that is guaranteed to mix with other automotive antifreeze types, then you should be alright.
