Bake82
Crossover been replaced? if it's a stock crossover it's leaking and most likely causing issues!
White93z34
sounds like its doing nearly the exact thing to a t that my old tgp did with a broken crossover pipe.
valeck25
Yeah I replaced it with a stock one last year and it was running beautiful this problem started right around march.
White93z34
are you sure its not leaking again? no excessive exhaust noise under hood? save for that maybe a screwy o2 sensor?
valeck25
Nope no leaks there, the O2 sensor was a lil loose I just tighten it and that helped with the boost alot , just yesterday I did the idle relearn like 10 times lol and no luck unless I'm doing something wrong. Garrett Powered
broken egr tube is the same thing as bad xover
valeck25
I didnt even think of it I will check that and maybe replace the egr. Thanks
valeck25
Ok I checked for leaks by ear lol and it sounds like a small leak by the egr tube but then again it could be the downpipe. This problem is making me hate my TGP

valeck25
Ok lil update I finally decided to take the cap off the adjuster screw in the throttle body and move it, that seem to help we'll see what happens over the next few days. White93z34
no real point in deleting the EGR IMO, just makes the SES lamp come on more often with no real marketable gains. and adjusting the throttle stop screw is masking the problem at best. Â There is no good reason to replace a broken crossover with another stock crossover as that happens to all of them. There are still folks who rebuild them to better then factory spec, PM GOT2B GM he has a jig for rebuilding them and a thread in the FS section just for that service. These cars need a little more special care then the average 3.1 grand prix.
GOT2B GM
Yes, give me a reason to buy another welder!!!
valeck25
Lol nice, I paid over 200 for that pipe just last year didn't even know about you guys til later. So how much would a new pipe be and what would you need? Thanks
intern8tion9l
no gains from egr delete, i know that. i mean if it were leaking i'd just do away with it. will require chip modification though
valeck25
another update on this problem, i just seafoamed it and i saw a little bit of smoke come out from the x-over to turbo, and front manifold to x-over, so there is a little leak, would this cause the high idle? thanks for the support. Bake82
yes it could. Fix the leak first. If it doesn't fix the problem it's something else which it definetly could be BUT but the leak isn't helping.
