GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Hello, my name is Steve, I am currently the proud owner of a 92 Z34 and few other cars. I have a custom built LQ1 slated for my TT project for my Z34, along with a custom 282 Muncie 5-spd.. Custom built stand alone ECM as well, ect ect. As with many projects time is'nt always on my side..lol But I look forward to talking and sharing with you all, and hopefully helping with some insight as well.. Cheers! Steve Quote

You think the 3100 sounds better than the DOHC? lol......I think the beast 2.8 even sounds better than the 3100. Quote
GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 I like all the 660's (60*v6's)..lol Quote
GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 I am also working on a second LQ1 I rescued from another 92 z34 auto.. 130k on it but still retains most of the factory crosshatching/hone.. One of the carriers.. Quote

GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 I know I know it's a front cover on a rear carrier.. Well,, I have 2 front covers I want to use both on the blue engine so I'll likely put a breather in or block off the oil fill hole on this one.. Quote
GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 Damn, you have nice looking motors! Nice paint work! Thank you! I did a top end on my old 01 y87 3800II Camaro a couple of years ago. I used the same color there too.. I figured it looked good on that engine so why not a whole LQ1 this go round.. Quote
Psych0matt Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Have fun blowing up the 282 in 5 minutes! Everything looks amazing, can't wait to see some project pics! Quote
White93z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 282s are pretty strong the fiero crowd throws stupid power through them and they seem to hold up I see PA tags on the car whereabouts are you in this state? Quote
GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Have fun blowing up the 282 in 5 minutes! Everything looks amazing, can't wait to see some project pics! Hardend internals.. 282s are pretty strong the fiero crowd throws stupid power through them and they seem to hold up I see PA tags on the car whereabouts are you in this state? New Kensington.. Yup after having them hardened it's not unusual to see LS7's bolted to them.. NICE!! Keep updating!!! Thanks! I have tons of pics.. Edited October 4, 2011 by GEN1Z34 Quote
GEN1Z34 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Simply put, the Muncie getrag 284 (11 bolt primary) is almost impossible to find here.. So the next alternative was a brand new Muncie 282 (9 bolt primary) and having the internals sent out to be hardened.. Just to make it a little more of a head scratcher, I am also using one with a quad bell housing, with a custom (still have to cut it) alloy trans adaptor. IMHO, the bell for the quad trany is stronger than the 660 bell.. Edited October 21, 2011 by GEN1Z34 i suck @ spelling lol Quote
