I got sick of the rattling noise comming from the trunk, so I rob this one out of a Cadilac

That is something I've long considered doing myself.

I wish I could remember what year cadilac it was, but unfortunately IDK. I do know that it was in the 90's hopefully someone on here can verify it. And as far as the installment I measured from the floor up to get the mark to land this one. Also I can tell you that your rattling will dissappear. The wiring comes with it, and all you have to do is give it 12 Volts. I came off the antenna power source since I'm never running both at the same time.

These were on Park Avenues as well. My 93 has one. Unfortunately its broken like almost all the ones i have seen.

I do know this:

if any of you ever experiment with one get one that has the same type of motor as the one pictured, which is basically a window motor(flat sides with round top and bottom). Other styles have a much cheaper motor that is prone to malfunction... it is cylindrical by comparison

NICE! You should post up measurements and change this into a write up

We used to have an 88 Lincoln Town Car with one of those. Now I wanna do it to the Cutty.

I used to love that on my '94 seville, but I had to punch a couple idiots that slammed my trunk AFTER I told them "click it shut gently".

That's the main reason those units go bad, people don't know how they work and slam the trunk. BAM no more pull down.

brings me back to 1986, my dads brand new seville had it.

I love those things but get used to not letting anyone but you close your trunk.

*slam* WTF? push, push push. open again *slam*

had that happen at a tire shop with my old Camaro when they were putting the spare back in the hatch. Had to run out and tell them to stop.

My 72 Caddy had one of those, but it was a 2-piece setup with a cable. Did you have to drill holes in the car to install it or did you come up with something clever?

Yes I had to predrill for new holes, however I measured the height of the bar to the old one before taking it off, then drop that measurement a 1/4 inch. Hope this can help.
