ptcfast2
Does anyone know what causes the vent box/assembly/whatever the thing in the dash is called that redirects the air depending on the selected dial position to squeak/whine/creak when moving? My 98 has just started doing it as of late.
urbex
If I had to guess, it's probably worn out seals. My Lumina does that I've noticed, but like I said I'm guessing it's just age.
Mel87
Our previous 87 would do this very loud when switching from the floor to the defroster. Not only would it squeak a VERY loud bang would occur. As to what causes it I would have to say what urbex said.
