GPXGRL
Ok.. all I can think is that I need tranny fluid but sometimes, mostly when i'm doing 55mph.. my rpm's go up by a hundred, then down, then up again, then down, making this horrrrrrible SCRUNCH sound every time the rpm's rise... so.. yeah.. wtf is that. Maverick
Its probably you. Your car knows your driving, and goes "oh gawd, why is she driving me!! i want her to leave. hopefully if i start acting poorly, she will sell me, and then i shall be free!" mfewtrail
possibly the torque converter control solenoid dying/sticking, but I've never heard of one causing a "SCRUNCH" sound before  ...maybe clutchpack grindage or something? I would have the pan dropped, change the filter/fluid and possibly have the whole trans flushed(pan drop doesn't change all the fluid). How many miles on the tranny and when is the last time the fluid was changed?

Oh,now that was just fucking rude. I'm not selling her, period. So fuck off immature dick. I don't need that kind of attitude from anybody. If you're kidding, I'll eat my words and forget about it. Okay, now that I'm feeling better.. I just ahd the fluids changed when I got my oil done (i had em all done, if you didn't understand that) about a month and a half ago. And "scrunch" was the best word I could come up with.. more like a low hum.. like it's trying to cough but can't.. i can't fucking describe it.. Perhaps I should flush the whole tranny... Perhaps I should flush the whole tranny... does this only happen on hills when around the speeds you mentioned earlier? if so, it sounds like a torque converter and/or torque converter solenoid problem to me...it kinda feels like a slight shudder/the car bucks??? Also, it might be wise to check the transmission vacuum modulator(located on the front of the transaxle facing towards the radiator, very easy to get to, just unplug(carefully) the vacuum line going into the cannister shaped modulator right under the electronic input connector on the transmission.....if the vacuum line has transmission fluid in it, then the modulator is bad and could be causing your problem.
