So the passenger rear brake rattles around sometimes.

I pulled it apart and sure enough, the caliper guides are worn. They don't look scored but the caliper is rattling on them. I am able to grab the caliper and rattle it. Sometimes you can hear what sounds like a clunking when I drive at lower speeds and the brakes not applied.

I found replacement guides/bolts for sale at autozone but here is the issue - what about the sleeve that is inside the caliper at the top? (and what is the proper name for it?) Would it not need to be replaced as part of the job? BTW none of the bolts were loose.

I have not purchased the guide bolts yet,.

Also, the driver side caliper seems fine. it moves smoothly on it's guide with not rattling.

So what are my options here? I can easily do this repair but just need the correct parts.

To be real clear, here is a photo of the sleeve I am wondering about, the gold part that I pointed to...

link above looks like the 88-93 caliper....

replace the guide bolts and see if it still rattles... if it does the bore in the caliper is bad and you will have to replace the caliper.

I rebuilt a set of those from the jy and do not recall a sleeve fitted in that bore. That piece of metal youre pointing at was just a cap that came with the boot and pin set for about $7 at auto zone. The boot and pin set cost more than the jy calipers lol.
