GOT2B GM
Yeah my 94 vert with the LQ1 and 90k miles blows just a touch of blue for one second on a cold start. Also leaks from the distributor plug but not at the rate you are seeing.
dodgeman
I am not leaking any oil. I am burning it. I dont see any leak, i dont smell oil burning, and nothing on the ground. ??? valve stem seals maybe?
GOT2B GM
1 qt every two weeks is a lot to be burning. I assume valve stem seals on my car because it only happens after it's sat
dodgeman
this happens every morning, i have heard pcv valve, valve stem guides, and a bad motor. I am hoping with just 75000 miles it is not a bad motor.
jman093
You definitely have some bad valve stem seals to get it on start-up. Seems to be pretty common on LQ1's and it does not help that there are 24 of the things. You can always pop to the PCV off and see if there's oil in the tube/on the pcv valve to check if your burning some through there as well. GP1138
I am not leaking any oil. I am burning it. I dont see any leak, i dont smell oil burning, and nothing on the ground. ??? valve stem seals maybe? Unless the O-ring has been done already I REALLY doubt it's not leaking from there. I have not owned a single (out of 6+) LQ1 car that has not leaked from there. It's just a fact of owning one.
dodgeman
If the O ring has not been done would it leak and not end up on the ground, where should i be looking?
