jpv123
Hey guys, What's up? about a week ago it rain extremely hard over the night. The next day I drove my car and when I made a turn I heard Swush, Swush. I look behind the rear seat and there was alot of water in that black vinyl area. WTF! That never happened before. I fiqured it was just the crazy rain we had. Well last night more rain and not that heavy and more water inside. The top never leak (in that area). My top is in "good" (not great) shape. the edging is frayed and its original.. No rips or tears but I guess some shrinking over the years. I would think I have at least another year or two before the top needs to be replaced. Anyway, are there drains that could be clogged? Since it's fall I know alot of crap can get in and clog these drains. I knew where they were on my Mustang that I had but I have no idea where they are on this car. any input would be great. Thanks and sorry for all the typing. I just wanted to be thorough with the explaination.
topless94style
Whats up man? My ragtop leaks also. My top i want to replace in the spring cuz it has minor rips and tears. More frayed edges i guess. The bavk thing in my car got water in it alot also. I did find a whole in my top where i think the water was coming in at. Check by your rear windows the little ones connected to the top. Look by those, and then look were the vinel kinda goes inside the fenders by those windows. Thats where my hole is on the passenger side. I had my mom put a patch on each side, kinda looks stupid but since im replacing in the spring itll keep the water out for now. jpv123
I think I fixed it. I noticed that there are "flaps" on the edges of the material for the rear window and another set of "flaps on the top that covers over the rear window. I can slide my hand through the seam of the window and top. Water can come in this way very easily. so I overlaped the flaps which closed up the gap. It looks like this is the way it should be. I tested it with a hose and no leak! so the real test will be the next time it rains.
topless94style
Yea i had that problem with my old window. Now that i got my rear window replaced, it hasnt leaked at all and i cant get my hand let alone the tip of my finger inside teh top anymore. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone who broke their rear windo win a drop top. $677 for a DAMN good job. Something i hope to never do again
jpv123
Well, That didn't do it. I had water it it again this morning. So With a cup of water I think NOW I got it. Where the top meets the bottom of the rear window had no seal. If I pourded the water on the window it would roll down into the car where I keep finding the puddle. So I neatly siliconed the glass to the top at the bottom edge. I think this should do it. I know alot of people get water in this area. If you do Check the rear window seal at the bottom. Keep your fingers crossed!

What're rez plates? plates from the indian reservation reservation=res=rez you mostly see them on shitty cars, but i guess some spend our money on nicer cars, they like the grand prix's. i havent seen a GTP with rez plates yet, but ive seen a supercharged bonneville and an iroc-z with a 350 with rez plates too...
