Go4DaMo
I've been driving my mom's 1992 Lumina that, maybe 2 or 3 times daily will free-rev as you pull away from a stop sign, or round a corner slowly. 4 times in 5, it takes me shifting quickly to neutral, then back to a forward gear to make the transmission engage again. Any ideas? My mechanic thought a valve may be sticking and I'm correcting it manually. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, all! carkhz316
Verify the fluid level and see if it is burnt at all. If those checks are good, then you may have bigger trouble
Hairdo12
Sent you a txt message about this. I've seen a few non E t460's do this. I've posted before TransX fixes it every time. Gear selector at 3 and no OD and it'll function perfectly. You might notice that when in OD and you coast down and come to a stop, when you would expect the 2-1 down shift and get some engine braking, its in neutral and not first gear. My theory is it typically occurs if the car sat for a while, especially through a winter that varnish and gum buildup occurs in the transmission. People I've seen this happen too all had a story where this was a scenario.... good thing is as I said, transx fixed it up after about 50 miles of driving every time. Artemis
I've seen this happen with low trans fluid.

Momma says it's functioning smoothly love this car, by the way...when mom drove to work, I just watched her cruise away in it and listened to the exhaust
