TheDeacon
Well, I'm a newbe here and I need some advice from the know. I recently purchased a new turn signal switch, cam and control arm. I plan on using the instructions on here to get into the steering column. What I would like to do is spray a protective cover on the control arm for the turn signal/cruise control/wipers/brights. I'm leery about using something as common as rust-oleum. I am considering getting something more substantial, such as paint protestant. Why you might ask? Well, I'm glad you did. To prevent the markings from rubbing off after everyday use like they have on every other button in my car. mra32
I would just install it as is. Your car is over 16 years old and it probably took a long time to wear the text/symbols off. Do you plan on having the car another 10 years or more? If you end up doing it, i would reccomend plastic paint like Krylon Fusion Clear Coat, but it would probably look pretty out of place with a glossy finish. Crazy K
coat all contacts with silicone dielectric grease.... but yes, the answer is a clear coat of some sort, maybe they make a matte finish in the fusion paint?
