Addicted to eaton
So the 3400 in the impala Hates me. First the Lower intake was stripped so i could not tighten the upper intake on. So i switched them out now the lower intake it warped so it cracked the intakes (both of my 3400 impala intakes) when i tried to torq them to spec Can i put a 3100 LIM and Upper intake and 3400 injectors/3100 rail (they are the same) And get a running car so i dont have to spend more money? i want to keep 3400 Heads, Upper intake and TB (if i have to) and use a intake setup from a 1994 Grand prix.. Is it possible? How much slower will it be even though im not worried. Edited August 7, 2011 by Addicted to eaton
jman093
Yes, it will work and run. I've no idea how much slower. My guess is its going to cost you 20hp or so. Remember, 2000+ 3100 manifolds are the same as your 3400 ones.
Addicted to eaton
I was told it wouldnt seal? the small port 3100.
jman093
I don't know why that would be. I've never tried it, so I can't say for sure, but the only difference I'm aware of is 3400 heads have a larger intake valve and different/better exhaust port. Did you read the part where he said the 3100 parts were off a '94 Grand Prix? I don't know. Do they physically fit?
jman093
Did you read the part where he said the 3100 parts were off a '94 Grand Prix? I don't know. Do they physically fit? Yes, I know. That's why it's a problem. 94 is small port and all 3400 engines are large port. He will have to use both 3100 intakes though. You cannot bolt a 3400 upper on a 3100 lower. The bolts are all different. The small port 3100 has like 10 bolts or something and the 3400 is going to have only 6. I do know that. Here's a thread on a Grand Am forum where Ben from WOT-TECH (SappySE107) says the small ports will bolt up. He knows more about 60V6's than anyone. http://208.86.155.123/forum/showthread.php?t=125267 Edited August 13, 2011 by jman093
