urbex Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 I tried searching, but came up with nothing... Is there a way that I could check to see if my PCM is going bad? Things are always running through my head, and I was thinking more about my surging problems again today. When the problems first started I did notice that the cover to the PCM was coming off, and it could have possibly got water inside. I don't know, but I would assume that water could ruin it if it got in there...(that's why there's a cover) Is there any way that I can test the PCM? Obviously replacing it is a last ditch effort, and I'm not there yet, but if I can test it that'd be awesome. Or if the PCM is bad would it be a lot worse than just an occasional surge, more like the car wouldn't run? Quote
Z34guy Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Went over this in school. There is no way to check if the PCM is bad, just make an educated guess. I think the only thing you can do is check for continuity. Quote
joecutlass Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Mine went bad because one of the screws on the corners broke, and left it open on that corner. I just replaced it last week. Quote
urbex Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 Ok thanks. I guess I'll leave that as the last option, as it'd probably be easier and cheaper to do everything else first. Quote
