quick ecm question

I had to replace the ecm in my gp yesterday. I got an ecm from a 94 corsica with a 3100. The car runs phenomenal now, but it won't shift out of third gear. should I replace the chip from the corsica with the chip from my original ecm? I didn't know if this would make a difference or not.

You probably should switch the chip. There is a chance the corsica had a different transmission, potentially a 3 speed. I know they switched right around that time from 3 to 4 speed transmissions

94 3100 corsica is a flash PCM, no removable parts other than the knock filter.

you could reflash the PCM with a W-body tune and then it should function 100%.

How do I reflash this pcm? I put the chip that was in my original pcm in this one and still no dice.

Thats cause that chip you swapped is like Saar said, the knock filter.

IIRC you will need a GM Tech 2 scantool, a laptop, and the proper .bin file to reflash the PCM.

So how do I get this to you and back quickly enough?

Or this option be more. intelligent...

Obd2 swap?

And if this IS smarter, what would I need to do this?

if you send it, or another like it(any of the 94-95 3100 from a L/N/W or from a 94-95 F-body 3.4) to me, just include a little cash for my time and return shipping costs and i can have it sent back the same day i receive it.
