BXX Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 yeah my back end feels swirly, seemed like after i put the 16 inch Monte Carlo rims on, they came off a 96 i believe..anybody know? Replace tires, have car aligned. Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 i take it you don't have a RSTB? idk lol, wheres that at and i'll tell you and the tires are brand new, like few weeks old Quote
Psych0matt Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 idk lol, wheres that at and i'll tell you and the tires are brand new, like few weeks old Rear strut tower brace. And if you don't know, 99.999% chance you don't have one. Just because the tires are only a few weeks old has nothing to do with whether your car is properly aligned. Trust me, if it's not and you keep driving on those tires, they'll be trash very soon. Quote
jeremy Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 If the tires are new then get the alignment.... Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 i just noticed on the left side, the "arrow" type things on the sidewalls are going towards the back of the car, and the right is going towards the front, should i get these fixed? or is it ok? Quote
jeremy Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 does the sidewall of the tire have a specific rotation direction listed??? Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 i dont believe so, i looked at em pretty good, didnt see anything..but to me it looks like the tires should be flipped around Quote
BXX Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Are those BFG Advantage T/A? If so, they are not directional. Quote
jeremy Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 i dont believe so, i looked at em pretty good, didnt see anything..but to me it looks like the tires should be flipped around Did you get it aligned yet? Quote
Cully77 Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 show us an entire picture of the tire and state which wheel location it is; for example: right (passenger) rear. Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 humm im gonna be weird. everone else says alignment. I say Rear sway bar? How are the end links on them? Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 heres a pic of the left side rear, and the right side rear, it was just easier for me to get a picture the first picture is on the left, the second is on the right. Quote
urbex Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 If it's not an alignment the only other thing I could think is they need to be balanced possibly? Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 heres a pic of the bushings in the rear, this could be it..the right is a little worse then the left, this is the right side Quote
jeremy Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Why are you so opposed to getting the alignment? Quote
BXX Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Why are you so opposed to getting the alignment? Cause he knows it will prolly cure the problem:lol: Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 i'll get it aligned, i just dont have the money right now. Quote
urbex Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Well then you better get raid to shell out some more money for new tires. Believe me, I learned the hard way. In just a few thousand miles I essentially ruined a fairly decent set of tires by being lazy.. Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 they're fine right now, no wear from what i see, i get paid friday but im gonna see if i can get together some money before then, might as well get all 4 aligned Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 thats the trailing arm bushing. Quote
Jprice90 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 UPDATE: i got the tires re-aligned, they were WAY off, the back tires were bowed outward, and pretty much going to wear the inside of the tire, the front right was inward, and the left front was ALMOST in spec, so yeah i guess they were all effed . no more swinging and it handles alot better..THANK YOU ..i am going to replace those bushings sometime Quote
