Got my JY transmission. Need opinions, tips, etc.

Let me start off by saying that between 3 treasure yards, this one is the ONLY 88-89 W trans I could find. The mileage is unknown since the 88 GP I snagged it from had a digital cluster and butchered wires. For the most part, I'm pretty comfortable with it. The fluid is nice and clear red, doesn't smell burnt, and there's no chunks of metal in it. I took both the bottom and side pans off, there is no gunk in either one except for the magnet, which has a little black goop on it, but again no alarmingly-sized metal shavings. One thing that does concern me is one of the metal lines inside the transmission. The junkyard uses some kind of punch to pop a hole in the bottom of the pan so the fluid can be drained, and it punched through and hit the metal line. It looks pretty damaged, so I'm wondering if I can use mine and how exactly to replace it. I'm not an EXPERT on this, which is why I'm asking for opinions from you guys.

Also, the torque converter looks like it may have been a replacement but I COULD be wrong.

Then Spencer should get online.

I'm getting ready to head to AutoBone and grab sidepan gaskets, the old ones are a little sketchy.

I never opened my trans except to do the filter. I bought mine at a yard that they pull all the parts so nothing was punched to drain fluid. Sorrys :\

Well damn...

I'm surprised nobody's chimed in with some awesome encyclopedia-style knowledge yet. :showoff:

Oh well...the trans will probably be in the car tomorrow
