fourizza
I bought a 98 monte carlo z34 couple a weeks again with only 100k on it, The guy that I bought it from already replace the intake manifold gasket with some other things and had all the receipts to prove it. It drove fine up until today, I drove it to the store and notice some coolant leaking from the front drives side of the car. I took a look at the coolant tank and notice that they're wasn't a lot of coolant in the tank, even though the car was hot. So I picked up some coolant at the car parts store and put a little in. I took 2 picture were the leaks were coming from. The first one with the red circle had a very small stream coming out but this leak stop after a bit. This leak hasn't stopped and is still slowly coming out. Im just wondering if the Im going to have to replace the radiator?

fourizza
Alright I will be replace the radiator but I have one other question about the core thickness on the radiator. The thickness of radiator that is in there now is 5/8in but the autoparts store has 2 of them one is 5/8in thickness and the other is 1in. should I just get the 5/8in one? The 5/8 will be fine, since that's what it came with. If you have Advance Auto parts stores locally, you may want to search for coupon codes over @ slickdeals.net. You will have to order the radiator online to get the discounts there and could save $30-40 depending on the price of the radiator. If you don't have AA's there, but have an O'reillys auto part store nearby, you can call them before picking up a radiator and ask for the "1-800-radiator" price since that's who they source their radiators from. Most of the time you'll save $30ish by doing this.

ron350
Fourizza if you live in a warm climate like I do put in the thicker radiator. A few months ago my radiator tank cracked at the same place as yours did and I replaced it with a 1-1/4 version. My Regal does not over heat at red lights or drive throughs any more lol.
