bronze93
Alright so I put new struts and mounts, new rear subframe bushings in, and removed the subframe completely in order to change the transmission. I had the car aligned in April and everything was fine but today I took it in and they can't get the camber and caster right. LF 0.0 Camber RF -0.1 Camber LF 2.9 Caster RF 1.7 Caster What changed that the camber and caster and how do I fix it? They did set the toe and not charge me for the alignment. BXX
Caster is fixed by a simple cradle (subframe) shift to bring things back into alignment. And halfway decent alignment tech should know that and be able to accomplish it in aboot 5 minutes. Then a quick toe set and it's all done. That much cross caster can cause some irratating drifting and pulling.
bronze93
In the FAQ section there are part scans on the third page. One of the scans shows underhood dimensions in order to line things up. Does anyone have scans or a link to the dimensions for locating the subframe? Does anyone have scans or a link to the dimensions for locating the subframe? That wont help. As these cars get older, bushings relax and wear into different locations and so on. So shifting the engine subframe is how it is done. Fixing your alignment is as simple as I already posted. The alignment tech will know how much and which way to move it doing the alignment as the measurements are displayed in real-time. If he cant do it, find someone who knows what they are doing and you'll be all set:thumbsup:
