cah77388
So, its time to change the spark plugs on my 96 olds cutlass (3.1L), the front are done, easy...but of course the ones on the back are a different story. I have rotated the engine forward, but the boot that covers the plug has torn, leaving about a half inch of the rubber boot around the old spark plug (cylinder 5). Any ideas or tips as to get it off? Any and all help is greatly appreciated, as its almost impossible to see what you're doing. Thanks

Schurkey
the boot that covers the plug has torn SOMEBODY forgot the silicone dielectric grease the last time the plug wires were removed from the plugs.
carkhz316
I use die-electric religiously and the couple times I've had to mess with plug wires for some reason or another before a plug change was due, the wires were a little bit easier to remove, but not much. I'm in it for the corrosion protection.
