NORBI Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Hey did any of you Oldsmobile owners happened that all the people confure your Oldsmobile with Buick it happens to me all the time when they call Oldsmobiles a Buick and that pisses me off and i always have to correct them. No offense to Buick owners here. :x Quote
gmrulz4u Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 It happens to ALL makes/models of cars! I've seen Buicks called Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs called Chevy's, Acura's called Honda's etc. It's to be expected in a day where almost all cars are being based on the same chasis with the same engine, built by the same plant etc. No big deal... godofthunder Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 i actually had a kid ask me the other day if it was an 88 though (Olds 88, not a 1988)...I was doing some photography...and developinga print...and he saw it jon Quote

PJB Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 My dad always calls an Olds 88 my friend has for sale a Buick. He kept telling me how much he liked the tan Buick and I had no idea what he was talking about at first. Quote
Vegeta Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 My mom confused my friend's black '95 Monte Carlo Z34 for my sister's dark gray '93 Honda Accord LX 4-dr! Women. You have friends? And they visit you? wow...lucky bastard! Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 I agree that all makes and models are confused sometimes, but I do think it happens more often to Oldsmobile and Buicks. I've had friends refer to my car as a Buick. They say that to stereotype it as an "old persons car." To that I simply say, hey, those are ROCKET emblems! Quote
godofthunder Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Hah! sure beats having little sheilds. jon Quote

MaroonRegal Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 GM's current 3.8L V6 is pretty much a product of Buick. Quote

TeeJay3800 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 The 60º V6 was a Chevy motor. Quote
MaroonRegal Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Answer to both sides: Who Cares? Both divisions rule, and both divisions are rather similar in many ways, let's get over it. BTW...I like my shield symbol, i think it's kinda cool. Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 buick invented the OHV. Wrong. Oldsmobile came out with the first OHV motor, the Rocket V8 in 1948 (I think).
