LQ1 power steering pressure control solenoid.

My father is having a PS issue with his LQ1. It randomly purges its PS fluid. The pressure control solenoid has a broken clip and does not make complete contact. Problem is, I cannot find a new one from GM or at any of the junk yards around here. Any one have a junked LQ1, or know of someone who does? Thanks in advance. It is getting really old refilling with PS fluid every other day, lol.

Last time that happened to me (loss of ps fluid) it was due to the rubber hose on the return side of the rack. The old hose had cold-flowed under the clamps; therefore the clamps weren't sealing the hose to the metal tubing--so it didn't take much pressure to cause leakage. Eventually the hose popped completely off the metal tubing, and the PS puked all the fluid.

Fresh rubber hose, and good-quality clamps (I used clamps marketed for fuel injection hose) and it's been trouble-free for several years now.

First Guess: You wouldn't be leaking fluid unless the plumbing was bad, in addition to the non-functioning pressure control solenoid.

This is the 3rd pump in 3 years. All the plumbing is new. The only thing that has not been replaced is the solenoid.
