Head Gasket?

Pulled my spark plugs after about 500 miles since installing them...

All the front plugs are nice and pretty.. Start on the rear,

#2 the insulator is all brown and it was wet looking..#4 insulator is brown

but does not look wet..#6 was as pretty as the front.

Now there has been a bunch brown greasy crap i have been flushing from my radiator.. thought it might have been some stop leak from the previous owner....this brown crap is about the color of #2 and #4 plugs.

but with #2 looking wet, it was kinda oily looking. would burning oil make the insulator brown? or could it just be the brown crap that is in the radiator and the wet look is from antifreeze?

Guess i'm asking,...Blown head gasket or jacked up bottomend?

when was the last time the lower intake manifold gaskets were changed? that could be the gunky shit in ur raid, flush it out. top it off with anti freeze. then check for an oil like residue in the over flow tank after driving it a few miles if none.. keep and eye on it. If still none... ur ok. If there is oil. you need to do intake gaskets.. (if they have not been done. in 30-40k or do not know when the last time they were done. Id change them.. Also check the rear valve cover gasket for leaks (to cause the rear insulation getting oil on them problem)

"Brown Greasy Crap" can also be used to describe what happened when my ex gf added regular green coolant to my GR which had dexcool in it..they don't mix so well and form the said Brown Greasy Crap in the cooling system....sounds like a possible head gasket. Do you have access to a pressure tester? that would help determine it. They Are pretty cheap at Harbor Freight if you have one near you.

no pressure tester..i will look into one. the brown greasy crap may just be what was left in the block

from the car i got the motor from...looked like the car had cooling issues, but it has never even

got close to overheating in my car? I am pretty sure it is ring related..hopefully the rings are just gunked up with carbon and

"sticking"... time for some seafoam..

Hear hear on the Seafoam! My oil is so clear I can barely see it. I had the brown residue all through my coolant system and overflow that seemed to go away after the LIM replacement. 18 months later and then I started losing coolant. I just did the head gaskets and cleaned the crap out of the coolant system. Tons of sludge built up in the block all around the pistons. Runs super cool now and the heater gets hot fast! If you replaced the LIM I say flush the heck out of it with a hose and see if it comes back.

ok did a compession test, here we go.

dry test/ wet test(oil added)

1)105 1)170

2)85 2)170

3)100 3)165

4)95 4)150

5)100 5)150

6)95 6)150

Might as well start looking for parts to repair/replace that engine.
