Firen81
Alrighty, after 13 years of great service, my exhaust is finally rusted to the point im sprouting small leaks everywhere. so, being cheap, I found an SLP Exhaust for $200 off a GP GTP, but I was wondering if it would fit properly, or if I would have to cut and hack everything apart to put it on. 1998 Lumina LTZ 3800, if that helps me out at all. RobertISaar
i guess it depends on how much of the exhaust from the GP you are looking to transfer over... being a 1.5W and taking exhaust from a 2W, there are differences IIRC.
Firen81
well,I'm looking pretty much cat back. I've got leaks like crazy, so i was just gonna do the whole thing. the SLP should be a nice addition to a 3.8, needs the breathing room. my only problem is i have to see what hangers I'd need to change and if it is the same length. after that, I'm good
94 olds vert
If you already have a dual exhaust on your Lumina.(Split after the resonator). You should be able to take a similar looking set up from a GP. Some or all of the hangers might not match up. With some work I'm sure it would be possible. You need to be handy with a welder. redynscire
i can tell you it will not directly fit, i know from experience. where the pipe goes past the gas tank it will not fit properly. the gp's in this section are shorter. the hangers before the gas tank are in different spots as well as the hanger beside the gas tank is in a different location too. it can be made to fit though...i have done it Edited June 27, 2011 by redynscire
LuminaPower92
Meh, go aftermarket. Make that custom sound that will own!
Firen81
So do I have to move hangers or pipe?
Firen81
I am grabbing an SLP exhaust, its cheeper than making a full custom setup. Besides, its a proven setup, just needs a bit of tough love to get it in. Goodbye weekend
