GP4U2NV
I am getting the "gay" spoiler removed from the GP. I need a new deck lid without spoiler. Going without spoiler. What is my best plan. I need fit and finish, this is a show car. I also want one that will last for a long time. William

GP4U2NV
id just take it into a body shop remove the spoiler and weld the holes closed and paint I did that when I deleted the factor spoiler. They will nto do it again, the metal will have waves if they do.
GP4U2NV
I would get an SE trunklid since they didnt come with spoilers most of the time I think I didnt pose my question correctly. Where should I get the deck lid? Used at a junk yard? ABP etc?

BXX
I think I didnt pose my question correctly. Where should I get the deck lid? Used at a junk yard? ABP etc? How far are you?? The one on my TGP is decent shape, we can swap if your close enough to drive out. If not, then yeah, a junkyard will prolly have a decent selection. Hell, most trunk lids I see at pullapart have minimal damage and would require little body work.

GP4U2NV
Is it better to repaint a stock unit? Is it better to get a reproduction and have it painted? Is it better to locate NOS GM stock?
Crazy K
My preference is to get a stock unit in the correct color from a junkyard(I've succeeded several times with this method). Alternatively, a stock unit in the wrong color in good enough shape to use should be very easy to find should you decide that you just want to paint it. (best option) NOS? Excellent condition parts are still plentiful, so why pay $$$$$$$??? Reproduction/Aftermarket? go DIAF. good fit and finish = mission impossible There is a pick and pull in Cincinnati, and in Columbus..... AND WHY WERE YOU NOT AT DAYTON??? 94 olds vert
Repainting your stock unit would look fine. It would be like new. I wouldn't by a reproduction. They don't line up very well. The fit is never the greatest. A NOS part is no different than the stock deck lid.
urbex
Only benefit really I can see to NOS is if yours wasn't perfect, whether it had some rust or dings that you couldn't fix easily.
jake91
like he said im guessing he would want perfect as it is a show car. after seeing pics of your car id almost want n.o.s.. as reprodutions while they may fit are much lower quality Edited June 20, 2011 by jake91
