Addicted2bass
This problem has been going on in the TGP for awhile, but has gotten worse recently. Some of the time it starts up and idles fine. Other times one of two things happen. #1: The car starts fine, idles good for a second or so, then idles very low and rough, less then 500 rpm. It will idle like this for a second or so, then the engine revs up to around 2k rpm. It will then slowly, over the course of 30 seconds or so, idle down to 1k or so. #2: Same thing happens as said above, except instead of the idle jumping up to ~2k the car will just run rough for a second then die. When I go to restart the car it has alot of difficulty starting. Its very rough and usually takes a few tries. Ideas??

RobertISaar
reset the ECM's NVRAM by disconnecting power from the ECM by either pulling the fuses for it, or disconnect the battery/ECM connectors, 30 seconds should be more than enough time to clear it. then see if it keeps happening... your ECM may have "learned" some bad tricks. running anything other than a factory chip? Addicted2bass
It has the TopGun chip IIRC. It was in the car when I bought it 4 years ago. Injectors are Yellow Tops and were new when I bought the car. What is the typical lifespan of those? The ECM fuse is in the fuseblock under the hood correct? I cleaned the IAC and the EGR. Where is the TPS located? I may just replace both. They are pretty cheap. One other thing. When I took the EGR off to clean it I found that the metal tube going down to the exhaust is no longer there. So the EGR valve isnt really doing much, would this be causing my problem? BXX
You hear any hissing or anything? Possible vacuum leak.
RobertISaar
two fuses, if it's like the 90 GP LE, one near the front driver strut tower in a little plastic case with the fuel pump relay, another in the glovebox fise panel.
Addicted2bass
The car has been sitting for a few days due to a flat tire. I started it several times yesterday and of course it started and idled perfect. I HATE intermittent problems:cussing: I found the fuses for the ECM, next time it acts up I will try pulling them. I can't hear and any vacuum leaks, the lines are kind of a mess though so its possible I just can't hear it over my exhaust.
