Redfox340
Most of you 2000 and newer 3.8 Liter Series II V6 [L36] owners may have recieved a addressed recall letter from your local dealership explaining about the intake / throttle body bolts. Well, we just got back our Monte Carlo and I'm glad we went in. The three bolts that were originally installed from the factory were extremely whimpy in size and strength. The gauge of the metal was not better than the equilent of metal fascia body faseners. The replacements are obvious bigger and of a different metal. Plus, we were freaked to realize that unfiltered air was slipping in slightly between the upper intake plenum and the throttle body due to the original bolts were already begining to loosen up! So, after no cost, a day at the dealership and the SS back in our hands, all is well. We were personally pleased to have notice of this and the fact the Chevrolet didn't charge us at all. Figured I would give an update since there was a side post about this... so... just giving a heads-up to all. - Erik

Redfox340
Hey, does that apply to a 1996 L36 as well? Like per0781 and Robby pointed out, no. It's affected the 2000+ L36's since the Gen II Monte Carlo's was released. From what I gathered, it also applies to the rest of GM; Buick, Pontiac, etc. The 2004+ models are not affected since the problem was corrected early this year. - Erik
MaroonRegal
Most of you 2000 and newer 3.8 Liter Series II V6 [L36] owners Well, sometimes a manufacturer will only recall back a certain number of years, regardless of how long they've been fucking something up. Just wanted to make sure.
