Jeorge Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Is it a 2.8/3.1L? when Reaching from the top down is it up and to the left a bit? like say 3 inches away?? if so thats where your winter heater is...if not then I dont know what you are talking about.... Just Changed the Crank sensor on a buddys 3.1L and that is what was there on his.... Quote

Monty Its sense pre-detonation, and retards (I guess) spark timing so that pre-detonation or knock doesnt occur. Unless something is wrong with a n/a 3.1L, there will usually be no knock at all (low compression). On a turbo with high boost, you will see knock. Quote

Monty Yeah, you should mainly worry about knock on any boosted car or really high Compression Ratio Quote
