1997 grandprix
i was wondering if the fuel pressure sensor has anything to do with this? some of the problems are it knows its suppose to shift, it kind of goes into neutral but still speeds up then shifts at a much higher RPM. any idea what it could be? joecutlass
Fuel pressure sensor? Or do you mean regulator? Could be a number of problems. What motor is this?
Andrew
L36 doofus. 4t60-e trans. I would not think its fuel related. Sounds like the trans is slippin.
Galaxie500XL
Either that, or the vacuum modulator on the transmission is shot. Might be worth a look, modulators are cheap.
1997 grandprix
its the 3.8L and its weird how it shifts like it knows its supposed to and fakes the another 2000 RPM it finally does. could bad fluid be the problem too

jman093
Isn't that gonna have a 4T65-E? Even gen 1.5 cars got them in 97. It might have the 4T65-E bad pressure solenoid problem.
Crazy K
One thing i have observed that could be a cause of this issue... Broken springs in the accumulator. (refer to FAQ thread: http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/35870-4T60-e-Shift-Kit-Write-Up) and i think this car is the last year for the 4t60e behind a 3800 in a GP... Andrew
and i think this car is the last year for the 4t60e behind a 3800 in a GP...correct you are. 97 GT's and all SE's got the 4t60-e.
