johnnyride
Hey all, I was wondering, has anyone tried Fox Mustang pin guides for our cars? I know Foxes and Cutlasses were converted by Cars and Concepts, so perhaps they are the same. I just bought a set cheap on eBay to find out. I don't need them, but I like to experiment. Perhaps it will help everyone with these cars. Those guides are up on eBay all of the time. john
94 olds vert
I haven't thought about using those. They look like the rim may sit up too high. If it was to be trimmed it might work really well. The cutlass pin cups are more flat on the surface, but if those could be cut to match they would probably work. johnnyride
They look more rubbery, so they may flex a bit. And break less. I'll report back when they arrive. And great picture!
94 olds vert
Yeah that is a good picture. Dhs1223 made a run 2 or 3 years ago of aluminum pin cups. That were powder coated black. I have a set of raw aluminum ones that I polished up. They looks great. Let us know how the fox body mustang ones work. I'm sure a lot of people could use that instead of trying to find original ones that are in good shape.
Galaxie500XL
I've wondered about just threading the hole, and finding an insert that would work.
BPACH
Did you receive them yet? They look more rubbery, so they may flex a bit. And break less. I'll report back when they arrive. And great picture!
johnnyride
I have them. They look like they would work if they were shortened a bit. I need to experiment more.

MemphisMan
Have all of the aluminum pin cups been sold? I'd like a pair if they're still available.

STGBROOK
If I can, I'd like to get a set. I just bought another 95 and it doesn't have anything left in the holes............ Completely gone. Edited August 13, 2011 by STGBROOK

Timm
Bump for answers as to if the mustang cups work, and to if there's any left to buy! Neither of my 95's have anything left there!
94 olds vert
I'd be curious to see if those will work. I should of looked at the yard to see if there were any fox body 'verts. Looks like with some trimming they would work.
Timm
Here's the original post offering the "cups" http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/34518-SOLD-OUT-VERT-PIN-CUPS Not sure if the offer still stands on re-making these... I ordered these 3 to see how they look / fit. If at all. The OD of the pin is about .3075" And the hole was around .74" http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-17832-47041.aspx http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-27909-47048.aspx and http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-19826-42346.aspx Yes, I realize they're rubber, but it's better than the 3/4" HOLE in there! I'll report back in a couple days on them. I PM'd DHS1223 on the topic. Edited February 5, 2012 by Timm

Timm
Sorry guys, the "guides" are still in the back of my Vue. I'm missing one of my front "pins" that would go into these... I've seen some replacements on ebay for like corvettes and such, but none for a cutlass... :-( Gotta get some details on the ones I saw to see if they would work in the vert... I promise I didn't fall off the face of the earth or anything! Just been real busy with a much bigger project! I WILL get back to you all when I try them out!!! Timm
http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-19826-42346.aspx Those ones work!!! The other ones are VERY rubbery, like you could flatten them with a roll of pennies, these ones are a nice hard rubber, and they snap right into the hole and stay there! On the downside, they're the most expensive ones, as they one come one in a pack. Then I noticed one side had a few remains left in it lol But I'd recommend these to any vert owner, at least until someone makes a new set of the aluminum ones! Sorry for the lag on the update! And for the COMPLETE thread hi-jack! (and I know I need a new visor, a good one is sitting in the trunk right now lol)
