Psych0matt
So I drove the GTP to work today (sedan is down, kind of an emergency), and on the way in it seemed to be fine, and any other time I've driven it I haven't had problems, but on the way home tonight it would rev up to about 3k between shifts. It seemed somewhat proportional to when I let off though. For example, clutching between 1st and second at about 1500k, it would rev to about 3k, and when shifting from 2nd to 3rd at about 2k, it would rev to about 3500. At a stoplight, we'll say, it would idle at around 2800 as well. I'm thinking maybe a vacuum leak, but would anything else cause this out of nowhere? birdman
I agree w the vac leak, check to see if your hvac controls work.
Psych0matt
defroster worked when I got in, because it was fogged up at first, but I'll check in the morning. Seems odd to have happened out of nowhere, but then again, the other car basically died out of nowhere, which is why I'm in this pickle
Psych0matt
Code 35, so I wiggled the iac sensor and now itts fine! Haha
Psych0matt
So I lied. It's still been doing this since. I drove down to BXXs friday and it was fine, but when we got it all put back together it wanted to rev between shifts, and idle around 2k. It seems like when I let off the clutch it'll rev up to about 2k or so when Im stopping, and then slowly drop to 1500, and occasionally if I sit for a minute or two it'll drop down to 800. I can't seem to place any vacuum leaks, and both a new map sensor, and the one from the sedan do the exact opposite, and it wont stay running, until I put the original map in thoughts? RobertISaar
it's possible both MAPs are screwed... got a vacuum pump and a voltmeter?
Psych0matt
I suppose that's possible, but why would the sedan run perfectly and not throw any codes, and then the brand new one behave identical? And I have a voltmeter, but not a penis pump
RobertISaar
And I have a voltmeter, but not a penis pump well, you can come borrow mi.... ....i see what you did there.... vacuum guage?
Psych0matt
no, I dont have anything vacuum related. I'll ask my dad, Im sure he has something like that I'd think. It may not be until next week that I can play with it. Heck, I may not have a chance before dayton, so if anyone has one, bring it
