skitchin Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Hello everyone, just came across these forums today. Grown intererested in modding a few things on my baby. I've had the car now for 7-8 years and I'll admit I haven't exactly taken it easy on her over the years, heh. Anyhow, I'm becoming more gentle as the car and I both mature, promise . I'm still learning auto tech and therefore starting slow and small. First on my to do list are front and rear strut tower braces. AWeb's RSTB seems to be the defacto standard around here, so I've got that on order( http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/50370-AWeb-RSTB-Mounts-Group-Buy.-35-shipped-to-US-45-to-Canada.?p=999551#post999551 ). I did come across one alternative http://www.westshorefabricators.com/WBody/Strut%20Braces.htm . Not sure if it's worth it but I do like how the strut bar is adjustabe, any more info would be appreciated on that. Still need to figure out the front, but looks like there are a few options, such as the Buick LeSabre( http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/32766-Front-strut-bar-...?p=520800&highlight=held+strut+rstb#post520800 ). So anyhow, that's my story. Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 aweb bar hands down worth it every bit. adam does good work and is a VERY good promising seller. Quote
skitchin Posted April 18, 2011 Author Report Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Yeah, he's working with the same type vehicle I have and not to mention I got a super fast response about the mounts. Have made my rounds through the forums so I can see he's definitely reputable. Could use some input on where to get the bar for the rear and haven't completely narrowed down what to do for a front strut brace setup. Edited April 18, 2011 by skitchin Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 go to pick in pull Since there is one in st.louis And find one off of a Oldsmobile convertible they have STB that bolt right up. As for the bar, See what you can find at a hard ware store. Quote
AWeb80 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Yeah, about your only choice is a factory bar from a cutlass very. You can find bars to fit the rear at a local ace hardware or something. Will just need to cut it to fit. Quote
