95gp
I've got a 95 Grand Prix GTP (3.4 DOHC) that just blew apart it's tranny I was wondering what would be the easiest way to get the sucker out of there. Thanks for any help, Mike
Guest Anonymous
Hoist the motor from the top to keep it from moving. Then drop the subframe with tranny attached.
Guest TurboSedan
i say remove hood, and pull it all out the top. leave subframe in place. joshua
gp90se
95 has abs, the 3.4 will not come out thru the top anywhere near as easy at it will by dropping the cradle. -Jeff
4spdz34
using a hoist, support the engine on top, unbolt subframe from car and steering rack, tack off only one of the ball joint castle nuts and let the whole craddle hang on the one ball joint. drain the trans at some point in this ordeal before you get it out its a lot lighter that way. disconnect cooler lines, unbolt the 4 bolts at the passenger side trans mount, remove exhaust crossover and shift linkage, disconnect all harnesses to tarns, unbolt starter, unbolt torque converter unbolt trans from bellhousing. i think thats all, more than likely your gunna have to break off you heat sheild to the steering rack cause you can't get to the one bolt. it took me about 2.5 hours, if you know your way around a shop and a car it should be the same for u
