So my heads came home from the shop today, brand new valve job ready to rock and roll, problem though, the guys shotty, and he removed all the exhaust manifold studs, which i asked him to do, to replace them as three were bent 3 were snapped off, and the rest back out of the head when removing the nut. I had given him a bag with all the studs (nuts included) and asked him to restud it with new studs and nuts, which he said no problem. No i have them back, and all he did was remove the broken studs, i went to the dealer to get 4 new studs, figured id just thread the ones that backed out back into the head. But these didnt come with the nuts, and the dealer said they cant get the nuts. ALL the nuts were in that bag, and magically he cant find the bag. My invoice didnt have the stud work on it, so i couldnt complain much, except for him not doing what i asked. He said he could keep them about 2 more weeks and find the time to restud, but he couldnt get me new nuts, so ive moved on from that to the possibility of picking up grade 8 bolts for the job, would this be a better way to solve my problem? or should I go to the junk yard and pull some nuts and wing it that way? the bolts are 8x1.25 according to the dealer. so should i just go pick up bolts that match this, or is there somewhere i can find these studs WITH the nuts over the studs? i cant wait for two more weeks, the car HAS to be done by friday, its monday night and i have everything I need EXCEPT for the stupid studs and nuts -.-;; if anyone here can help id greatly appreciate it!

ps;; this shop will NEVER have any more work from me, to say the least.

EDIT: I found a kit for this on Napa's website, comes with the stud and the nut, https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?A=BK_6003233_0071297625&An=599001+101997+50012+2012037&Ar=AND(P_RecType%3aA)

Would this be the best way to, for the sake of getting everything right? I can install the studs myself, i just didnt have the nuts.. Or would this be more appropriat? https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?A=EXH35313_0136043124&An=599001+101997+50012+2012037&Ar=AND(P_RecType%3aA)

There is a "HELP!!" kit with the correct studs and nuts. The nuts are the locking type with the top of the nut deformed slightly to prevent from loosening with all of the heat cycling. Not sure if that was on your link since it's not bringing me anywhere.

If I'm not mistaken, GM likely used the same exhaust manifold studs and nuts thru the 3500 V6 so maybe the dealer could cross reference it?
