Night Fury Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I gots new axles. In the boxes is a little informational thing. It makes very clear that the trans/engine must be aligned correctly or the axles will be ruined. And that as little as fractions of a degree of difference is all it takes to ruin them. Do I have to worry about this? I replaced both mounts recently, so it was de-mounted for a bit, but as long as it's all bolted back up properly now, we're good, right? Quote
Andrew Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 A fraction of an degree will ruin them? sounds like a dumb disclaimer so they wouldnt have to replace it if it fails. You are fine. Quote
BXX Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 That is a generic disclaimer really meant for other vehicles, Example, a Dodge Caravan and some Nissan/Ford Minivans will eat a halfshaft alive and/or have severe torque steer (even slight throttle will make them yank in another direction) is there are issues with old engine/trans mounts.
