16 X 8, 115 X 5 pattern, with something like a ~25mm offset?

The stock is 25mm. You should be able to run up to a 40mm offset... 42mm offset might be pushing it with a 8" wide wheel.

i'm not a fan of the way bigger rims and their weight affect the handling of these cars. My GP handles WAY better w/ my 16's on there and some sidewall to give a little than it ever did w/ the 18's w/ less sidewall. The rims were heavy plus the weight was now farther out from center thus slowing accel and increasing the braking distance.

The best decision I did for ride and handling was go back to the 16x8 stockers.....now if I could find some good 17x9 wheels w/a +30 offset and a lip...i'd be in heaven.

And thats why the best handling cars in the world roll on 16" rims with big sidewall tires:lol:

You cant sum up your car all in one. Ever rim weighs different, and even moar important, what tire (for handling) and the weight of the tire.

the 18" tire I ran was very close in weight of the 16" tire I have now. The wheels....vastly different. The lighter the combo, the better....or why else are light suspension parts so sough after....ex: control arms, strut assemblies, etc.

Yes, they will work, but w/ that offset, they will be set in to the fender well and not be very flush. may look weird.

There's many more variables than just the spacing between the hub and teh car, I'm pretty sure that I've seen 40mm offset rims that are 100% incompatible with our cars because of backspacing.
