Drummer
Ok well 2 weeks ago my intake gaskets went on my Monte Carlo. I changed and drained everything and all was fine, just a little engine noise. Today when I started my car it made a knocking noise and then went away and it did that twice. I get off of my exit coming home tonight and go to the local convenient and now when I start my car the little knocking doesn't go away. Depending if it's at an idle it's very minimal almost non existent, but when it's in gear it's a bit louder. Not exactly sure if I spun a bearing or not. Any thoughts. Nick1234
Im assuming this is full on knock. Cause my 3.8 makes a little noise. But its real light, kind of like pistion slap? Euro(Matts) engine took a shit after 5k? after he had coolant in his oil. My cousin (now brothers) LTZ is still on the road 25k later after UIM failure. White93z34
its probably too late, however i put 1500 miles on my l36 with damn near no oil pressure
jamesivey24
did you drain/change the oil too? its a killer in the oil on the rod/main bearings if the lower intake gaskets went and coolant got down in the jackets
Drummer
I did change the oil and everything because the level was way too high. It might be a rod knock or possibly a craked flywheel as it does it when accelerating, because once you quit accelerating it sort of goes away and when you let off it's not there at all. havent got to getting a video yet, as working 45 hrs a week plus school pretty much sucks my free time away.
