jamesivey24
I hgot aholt of a 93 grand prix with a 3.4 and 4t60-e with les than 80k with a blown headgasket due to a female driver at my disposal thats been sitting for a long time 3-4years - but maintained well before hand. and i have my daily driver 95 gtp 3.4 with a 4t60-e with nearing 200k with growing tranny issues with some work done to the engine so extended engine life expected there ... is this a straightforward swap if i drop both kframes (just because i can) and swap the trannys over? and whats the recommendation on which torque convertor to keep/use ? THANKS!!
AL
The internals of the tranny are different if I remember correctly... 93 is 93 only and 94-95 are interchangeable and 96-97 are interchangeable... I could be wrong
Galaxie500XL
I do recall the side cover on the 95 is different...if you'll look carefully, you'll see on your '95 there's a mount from the crossmember that actually attaches to the side cover...earlier models did not. Not sure if you could simply swap the cover...
Crazy K
The trans has different internal wiring, but the wiring inside the transmission is swappable according to hollander interchange... personally, I would swap the side cover too, if that can be done.... the 93 uses a stamped steel cover with a big metal brace, the 95 has a structural cast aluminum cover with brace that attaches to it's face.
