Changing cartridge struts

I'm probably going to have to replace the struts on my GP... and I was wondering how you replace the front ones... I searched the site and couldnt find anything so could somebody either point me to a thread or tell me how to do it?

I'm sure other manufacturers make 'em, but the generic "Lisle" tools brand makes a strut service kit, specifically for these cars. Its about $30-$50 bucks for the tool kit, depending where you go. It includes a Torx bit, a special indexing socket to remove the cap on top of the strut, and the extension for a 1/2" breaker bar/ ratchet. As far as doing them, I know there is a sticky/ tutorial somewhere on here, but in a nutshell, you do it with the car on the ground. Remove the strut tower plates from the engine bay area, remove the 15/16" nut off the top of the strut rod, and you'll be able to unscrew the cap off the top of the strut, ONLY if it wasn't rusted solid like one of mine was. Hope this helps.

It cleared it up a bit... I guess I'm just confused about the tool... I've never dealt with cartridge struts before. Once I have this tool is it self explanatory how to use?

More or less self explanatory... The hardest part for me was getting the bolt off of the top mount. You use the Torx bit and a wrench in tandem to get bolt off; FYI, its the nut the moves, not the Torx bit.

After you take the nut and mount off, the strut is exposed. You use the tool to slip over your strut and mate with the top bit of the cartridge. After that it's all self explanatory.
