GaPrix Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Making a sharp turn so that wheels are maxed my car has died a few times now, its still a rare occurrence. What makes it do that? Quote
White93z34 Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 the pressure switch on your steering rack might be broken/bad. when turned to full lock the switch is supposed to bump the idle up a little to prevent that from happening. Quote
GaPrix Posted March 21, 2011 Author Report Posted March 21, 2011 okay is that something that can be replaced independently? Quote
Garrett Powered Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 I think the switch only came on tgp racks. Quote
GaPrix Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 Oh sry, forgot add that...3100, I have 4t60e in my mind, not sure if that correct for the transmission, those items are stock. Quote
jman093 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I also wanna say there isn't a PS pressure switch on that car. Maybe the IAC is bad / carboned up and not bumping the idle up fast enough. You might grab some some carb/throttle body cleaner and pull out the IAC and clean the IAC, it's passages, and the throttle blade and see if that helps. Quote
GaPrix Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 The IAC in the top of the throttle body....I cleaned that a few months back, it helped a tremendously, that thing was a solid black mass. Quote
dohcnut Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Making a sharp turn so that wheels are maxed my car has died a few times now, its still a rare occurrence. What makes it do that? the baffles in the tanks of those cars were crap meaning under1/4 tank and a hard turn the gas would slosh to the side the pump would suck air and these fuel injection ststems dont like air or sudden drops in pressure. I had this exact problem with 2 3100 gps keeping the tank above 1/4 SOLVED the problem in both cars.---The lower the fuel level the more pronounced the problem. funny though my 3.4 gtp doesn't do it.
