virtuetovice
So the S/C drive tensioner pulley let go. Is it uncommon for an ECU to not notice that the supercharger isn't turning and still run fine aside from a power loss? 99 Regal GSE, 160k-ish Edited March 16, 2011 by virtuetovice
RobertISaar
the PCM doesn't have any way of checking it, unless maybe setting a BCS code since no boost happens at large throttle openings.
jeremy
Mine ran fine when I had a sc belt snap.... Just slower
carkhz316
Will run just fine, but with the power loss, and no CEL either. The only one that may crop up would be a fueling issue, like Fuel trims/ O2/ MAF.
alec_b
Funny side note: If you rev the motor with the supercharger disconnected (no belt), you can see the pulley spin from the incoming air!
9lumina6
No adverse effects from not running a SC belt......I did it a few times in the GTP when I used to have my Gen V setup and was trying to figure out issues with it. Ran perfictly fine without the SC belt....no codes....just rediculously slow....an L36 would destroy an L67 that's not running the blower. (3.29 gears, and higher compression)
