guntotenmadman
Does anybody know if trans fluid has a shelf life? I'm getting my trans, 4T60E rebuilt at the moment and I have 5 quarts of dexron II on my shelf that I'd like to use. It's about 10 to 15 years old, all new containers. Should I use it in my rebuild? Or am I crazy to even think about it?
digitaloutsider
Just go buy some Dexron VI. I'm sure it's still fine, but if you're doing a rebuild you might as well buy good fluid.
BXX
Dexron II is a no-go in the 4T60e, unless you want horrible shifts and possible slipping:lol: Lord, didnt they quit using that in 1988???
AliasCT
Well he did say it was really old... Dex III is what is spec'd for the 4T60e, but if it's a rebuild anyway I vote for going with Dex VI too!
