Dis install questions "?"

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am having some trouble. The Pink/black wire from the Dis should hook up with the Pink/black wire in my dash, but I can't seem to find mine.

The two wires on c2 connector dark green and pink. The dark green one goes to the dark green wire by the cluster, d15. Do I connect it to the wire that goes to my gauges?

Or can I connect it to any dark green wire?

Pink from the dis goes to the puple wire, d13. Where is this? By the cluster?

Sorry, for the stupid questions.

I'm looking at the cluster wires. I see a purp. wire although it's not d13.I also have two dark green wires comming out of the connector for the cluster. Not sure what one it is ad neither are d15.

GM had a bad habit of changing wires colors for no reason...

i assume you have the analog UB3?

Yeah, I have the analog dash.

So, what's another wire that is hot in run?

Thanks Robert! Know I know what the speed and fuel sender wires are.

Know just to find the hot in run wire and I'll be good to go.

You're installing a Cutlass DIS right? IIRC: The DIS won't work right with 94+ cars due to OBD 1.5/2. Or I think it might work but your average mpg will not work. GnatGoSplat installed one in his 94 Convertible and had to do some custom electronic work with an IC chip I think to get it to work right.

I see in your WTB thread that you knew that already.
