gp1991
ever since ive had my car there has been a hesitation when i would first push down the throttle. It wont happen except when the throttle is at rest and then pulled. I just replaced the TPS and got no results. What else could it be, i do have a code for the knock sensor which will be changed but i did not think that it could be this. Also the car has stalled a couple of times when switching gear when the throttle was pressed and the RPMs dipped pretty low. Any ides on what this could be??? RobertISaar
fix knock sensor issue first, it MAY solve the hesitation issue. when the knock sensor code comes up, the ECM applies a full time KR value any time the engine is running, something like 10* at idle, which CAN cause your hesitation issue. otherwise, it's an AE issue, which GM seems to have always had trouble with. you're either getting too much or too little fuel during quick throttle transitions. gp1991
Thank you for the response, i will have that changed for sure, and is there any way to fix an AE issue?
RobertISaar
without actual tuning, no way i know of without messing with the fuel pressure regulator...
gp1991
sorry if i sound like a complete idiot but is there any chance that there could be a vacuum leak somewhere?
RobertISaar
possible. the early MPFI stuff is all speed-density, which isn't really effected by vacuum leaks nearly as badly as a MAF setup is, but test for it, grab a vacuum guage, see what you pull at a hot idle. you should be near 20"
