eeltam Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Will torque stars fit a 94 gp? Found a set on craigslist with good tires for 350. Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 yes. But will not look right, on the front you will need some spaces so you wont rub the caliper, (so they say) i put 2nd gen 5 stars on my 1st gen with no issues. Quote

Anthony, Didn't you do the reverse of this?? 1st Gen five stars on your 2nd Gen? eeltam, I tried on my '95. We had to put so many spacer plates between the rims and the car to clear the caliper comfortably that we could only get 3.5 turns per lugnut. Not worth it, better options out there, this is from someone who bought the rims already and at the time only had a 1st Gen to put them on. Quote
pwmin Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 as was said, they might fit, but have a higher offset (40 vs. 25), so they'll be more in the wheel well and look goofy without spacers. They are the lightest w-body wheels, though. Quote
AL Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 You will need longer studs in the front to make them work and half inch wheel spacers Heres how they will sit Quote

They are the lightest w-body wheels, though. They will NOT fit (I've tried, the brake caliper goes right through the spokes of the rim. Torque Stars (2nd Gen): +52mm Sawblades (1st Gen): +42mm (IIRC) Cross-laces (1st Gen): +25mm The problem isn't so much the offset, but the backspacing. AL is right about studs and such, but at that point, you're effectively reinventing the wheel, to end up with what still is for all intents a factory wheel. My opinion (and it will not be universally shared) is that the only best way to do this is with a hub adapter, it's fairly expensive though, and 99% of the ones on the market are 114.3mm and not a true 115mm. eeltam Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 Thanks for all the input. I like the torque stars but I think i will pass and keep my eyes open for something else. I have the cross lace now and they do look good but I like the look of the five spoke style better. Quote
