xtremerevolution
Just a thought since I talked to Bob about this earlier, aren't injectors designed to run at a short range of pressures, and going too low causes the fuel to not atomize properly, and going to high wouldn't be desirable either? Just wondering, why does everyone go with larger injectors instead of just raising fuel pressure?

BXX
No Jon! DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON A FPR!!!!!!!! I picked up a Fuelab unit for appx $120. Its -6AN inlet and return. You may wanna look for one with 3/8" NPT fittings. You need to remove the stock FPR, and plumb the return side of the fuel rail into it, and then out of the regulator goes to your stock return line. Andrie, injectors are fine at a slightly high pressure, its when pressure is too low is when they start having poor fuel atomozation. Evenone tends to go with larger injectors because its easier. Jon, to use a external adjustable FPR you will need these..... They attatch to the fuel rails. http://wot-tech.com/shop/all/an-6-fittings-for-3x00-fuel-rails/prod_132.html Then you will need -6AN fuel hose and fittings and such.. Like what I haz:thumbsup: My faptastic FPR.. Im actually doing a full fuel system, braided stainless -6AN line the whole way, billet fuel filter, high pressure Walbro pump Also, you gotta make sure your pump that your using can even maintain and hold the higher pressure you require. Jonpro03
Well, how much am I looking to spend? If it's too much, I'll just buy injectors
xtremerevolution
Well, how much am I looking to spend? If it's too much, I'll just buy injectors The fuel pump is the Walbro unit I also picked up. Should be around $125 including the install kit. Of course, dropping the gas tank on your back without a car lift is also a PITA. Its a job I don't wish to do again any time soon.

RobertISaar
$200 for 30hp is wicked cheap. it's almost Gen 0 SBC cheap, actually... and the reason you don't see everyone using the same injectors, just at higher pressures for more flow? at some point, the pintles in the injectors will become hydraulically locked due to the pressure of the fuel pushing down on the pintle, and when the ECM gounds the injector, the pintle moves up, into the fuel and allows fuel out of the nozzle, but too much pressure and the injector response time and flow will actually suffer. the direct injection injectors have no problem with this though, since they're a wildly different design. BXX
Ill prolly just be using L36 injectors (off a 98 LTZ) and run them at 55psi. Of course, this is assuming I dont find a good complete set of L67 injectors at the yard before I actually do my engine swap.

BXX
You had L36 injectors on your L27?? And I have either scrapped or thrown away everything from your old engine. I have a set of L36 ones from my L36. I also have a set of L67 injectors, but 4 of the little discs at the bottom have cracked.
