4spdz34
i'm picking up my dohc crate engine today, anyone have suggestion on modifications? i'm not talking like a underdrive pulley, i mean like custom pistons, and speacial head gaskets for boost. i wanna run a turbo with 15 psi or have high compression, if i ran the turbo i would drop the c/r to 8:1 prob. but any suggestion would be nice thanks
Robby1870
I think a high CR DOHC would be pretty neat. like 11:1 or something, but its up to you. Bore it out, P&P heads and intakes, stuff like that
Vegeta
Porting the heads and cleaning up the combustion chamber will do you pretty well, especially with boost. I have some pics of the heads I just did for my car if you want to see them.
4spdz34
ya that would be great ben, i would like to see those. i also read somewhere you wer getting cutom cams done, is this true? where can i send mine to get done if anywhere? if i went high compression it would be 12:1, i don't care if i have to run 93 octane, fine by me as long as its fast. anyone know where i can get 96+ upper intakes? thanks

Im assuming they will have total seal rings for the DOHC. They have them for basically everything else
4spdz34
are sealed power rings the same as total seal rings? cause they have sealed power
Robby1870
Hmm.....I thought they had Total seal. I really dont know if they are the same, but Sealed Power are good rings too
Vegeta
i cant tell you where I got the cams done:P 500 bucks though and I dont have a clue what the new specs are. I asked but no reply...figures. They are regrinds. The pics are up here http://www.60degreev6.com/dohcheads total seal makes them, or at least they have because they are in my engine right now. Nico put them in when it was his car. There is a crate 96 engine on ebay for 600. Anyone that pays 1200 is either stupid or desperate for a new engine IMO. You can rebuild an engine with stock parts for 1200 and it would beat a crate engine. Besides, didnt you want 1000 for that before? Good luck selling it, they go on ebay for about 750-850 when they are on there.
