SmoothSteve3
Hey everyone- I've decided that I want to go with KYB GR2 struts for my rear-suspension (my current struts are virtually non-existant right now.... ) Now heres the question: What kind of KYB GR2 struts would I need for the rear of my 1990 Chevy Lumina 3.1. I see GR2's everywhere, I just have no clue which kind fit the lumina. Thanks! SmoothSteve

You are going to save yourself an arm and leg if you go to http://www.tirerack.com and get them. i went to one of the kyb retailers and they wanted a good 15-30bux more PER* part. when your getting all 4 struts boots and mounts. i calclated about 160dollars(not including tax) from a retailer and the online site. Im getting my done really soon. labor excluding parts should be about 250-300bux including wheel alignment.

Order Total $457.32 wow they went up since March when I got mine.fronts where $53 each. oh and you wont need front mounts Probably I dont know anyone who ever does...and if you have the GM 10 tool or barrow from a Parts store and your Front boots are good you dont need to change them...so thats $76 off that price... rear mounts I picked up from Ebay brand new GM factory ones $20 Shipped for both so I saved Bucks there...but I do Recomend Changing rear mounts and Boots...I picked my boots up from Champian auto for $15 each but it saved on shipping... and as for Changing them why pay labor just do it your self...takes about 45 MIns for both fronts and thats if you dont find your T50 socket right away. and only takes 2-3 hours for the rear...and thats if you Snap a upper bolt like I did...if you happen to snap one ...use a grinder on the bottom side then heat it with a torch and then use Vise Grips to screw it into the trunk...and it comes Right out...and that would save you another 200-300$$ as for GR2's they are Great only if you want your car to ride like a Truck, courner like its on Rails and want to save $100's off monroe or what ever else you want....gabrials are shit so if you use them plan on changing them every summer
Gearhead43
I have KYB's (all 4) and I just LOVE them... I paid 256 bucks for all 4 at Phil's Inc online. "Gabrials are shit"... How true, I had a set before the KYB's... They are super stiff... But didn't last me longer than 1 year... In which after that, they were so bad that I almost wrecked in a corner!!! YES!! THEY are that BAD!!!
