Chip
Slight leakage around the pan gasket and want to be sure I have them all the correct torque. Just need the spec!!! On the topic, has anyone drilled and tapped for a drain bolt? If so, what location in the pan and what size bolt did you use? Metric like the engine oil pan drain bolt? Andrew
ive never torqued my pan bolts. Just snug them up. as for the drain plug, just buy a universal plug at your parts store. Install it in the area with the most clearance from the internals.
Chip
Did you weld a nut to the inside of the pan?
Andrew
no. it is a hollow bolt, retaining nut, plug bolt and 2 plastic washers.

mfewtrail
Factory torque spec is "12 to 13 ft-lbs" for the transaxle pan bolts.
734_jackson
stop, #1 the torque is about 14 nm which really to do it the right way your best bet is to pull the pan off. anuse a fel-pro gasket to put it back together, also start all bolts first then just run them up bu hand ( all bolts ). about the drain plug you can put it anywhere that it doesnt hit anything inside. and i would weld a nut on the inside were ever you want it. an make it about a 1/2 in bolt fine thread only need it about 3/4 in long. they also mak a kit you can buy at any auto parts store, but make sure you loc-tite this kit together. but either way you have to pull the pan,and you might as well put a new filter in while you are there. good luck any ? let me Know. later Rob:thumbsup:
BXX
Factory composite rubber/metal trans pan gaskets are reusable and should be reused unless it's damaged. Also, the factory torque spec only applies on the factory trans pan gasket which does have 'limiters' on the gasket to control how much everything compresses. Best advice, head to your local dealer to get an OE gasket. Otherwise, youll be asking for leaks.
